Job Description
The Senior Director of Accounting Research is a key member of the Controller’s Group and has primary responsibility for managing a team of Senior Accounting Research Managers who support the international operating units and bottling operations. You will collaborate closely with the field as well as Corporate Development, Tax and others in the Controllers Group.

What You’ll Do for Us:
- Lead team of four Senior Accounting Research managers, including people development and career planning
- Participate in discussions around key transactions, projects, and initiatives
- Perform research, provide consultation, and prepare/review documentation for complex accounting issues
- Assist field financial management in addressing technical accounting issues arising from new commercial or supply chain arrangements as well as other day-to-day and complex business transactions
- Analyze and propose proper accounting treatment for mergers and acquisitions activity, business development (existing businesses into new markets or channels) and new system economic models
- Review/approve requests for authorization (RFAs) in order to identify any underlying accounting issues and to determine and advise of the appropriate treatment
- Assist the financial reporting group with quarterly/annual financial reporting requirements, including the accounting treatment for unusual transactions, selected footnote preparation, etc.
- Implement new accounting standards and participate in the establishment of internal accounting policies
- Protect value by ensuring that the Company is compliant with U.S. GAAP and U.S. SEC requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certified Public Accountant, required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, required (Master’s Degree in Accounting preferred)
- Minimum of 15 years of accounting, auditing, and external financial reporting experience with a focus on technical accounting issues, required
- “Big 4†accounting and auditing experience working with large SEC registrants, required (National Office experience preferred)
- Strong leadership and people management skills; ability to remove barriers and keep the team engaged
- Strong stakeholder management skills; ability to influence others in high pressure situations
- Complex problem solving, proficient research skills, and an attention to detail
- Field, commercial or strategy experience/exposure is beneficial
