We are the PIM & Input team within the Mobile and Modern Productivity Experiences Team! We build productivity apps including  SwiftKey Keyboard and Microsoft Autofill on mobile and PC.  Our products empower hundreds of millions of customers around the world to capture, manage and complete day-to-day tasks through engaging user experiences and AI technology. 

Our engineering teams are in London, Redmond and Hyderabad and together we focus on shipping innovative, industry-leading, cloud-based experiences on both phones & PCs. Our ambitious vision is to change the way our customers will experience their favorite Microsoft features & services on their mobile devices in the future.

We are looking for people to join our team and work on our Cloud Services & Platforms area for SwiftKey. Each role involves all aspects of delivering a great user experience: 

• Understanding our customers’ needs - in our case they are developers in our team and other teams. 
• Being a good communicator and knowing how to translate infrastructure jargon to other developers and colleagues in other disciplines. 
• Participating in our (paid) on-call rota. 
• Owning features from the high-level design to the small details. 
• Mentoring more junior members of the team. 

Responsibilities

We work in an agile pattern, regularly reviewing and adapting to make sure we're focusing on projects which make real impact. 

 We are looking for someone who... 

• Values diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.

• Has 5+ years of experience as DevOps/Service Engineer. 
• Has a strong understanding and/or experience working in a Linux environment
• Has experience working with major cloud platforms, eg. Azure, AWS or GCP. 
• Has experience in container orchestration, eg. Nomad or Kubernetes. 
• Has experience in and enthusiasm for managing infrastructure as code using e.g. Terraform, Ansible and Packer. 
• Has an interest in automation and continuous delivery. 
• Has knowledge of working with basic networking principles. 

Qualifications

Experience in the following would be beneficial but not essential: 

• Cassandra 
• Azure 
• Golang 
• Python 
• Relational databases
