JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a new role in our IT function so is a chance to own and shape the DevOps function of a multi-billion £ turnover business. This is a chance to make an impact.

• Working as part of an enthusiastic, motivated, and delivery focused agile team.  We run over 50 websites - including some of the biggest names in Retail.  
• Optimizing our existing CI / CD pipelines and working on our exciting new ecommerce platform, which is based on Microservices, API first, Cloud Native and Headless (MACH) architectural principles.  Our new platform will run in AWS and Azure.   
• Automating, building, maintaining, and improving the infrastructure and operational aspects, including continuous integration / deployment environments
• Ensuring that environments can be mobilised quickly in a repeatable fashion
• Staying up to date with the latest technology and industry trends, continuously looking for ways to apply them for our benefit.  

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Skills:

• 3+ years developing and managing modern DevOps environments
• AWS or Microsoft certified DevOps engineer with skills in a second cloud platform
• Building deployment pipelines using CI / CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps or Octopus
• Build automation tools such as Npm, Gradle or Maven along with an understanding of what is required to build, test, and deploy, Nodejs and React
• Process automation and scripting
• Setting up and managing Cloud native environments using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), within AWS and / or Azure
• Delivering containerized, serverless, and virtualized infrastructures 
• Working with Docker, both in a CI / CD context, and orchestrating in production with ECS / Fargate, AKS, or OpenShift
• Working closely with Cloud Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure organizational best practices are followed
• Coaching / mentoring development teams in the correct application of DevOps principles

Desirable Skills

• Cloud Security 
• Monitoring / Observability, Logging, and Alerting platforms 
• Delivering technical documentation for the environments you setup 
• Agile and Lean methodologies 
• Load balancers, DNS, virtual networks, and firewalls, in a cloud environment 
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering 
• Git usage and branching 
• Runbooks / Rundeck

This role is available on a hybrid basis out of our Shirebrook, London or Basingstoke Head Offices
