The Role

The Large Trade Notification squad is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to assist in implementing software enhancements and providing technical leadership for the team primarily from a backend database (Oracle) focus. This role is a full-stack position which will allow the successful candidate to leverage their experience in designing and implementing Oracle-centered database applications in an Amazon Web Services (or similar) cloud computing environment.

The successful candidate will bring a highly engaged inquisitive and consulting approach, outstanding application development skills and instincts along with a passion for delivering innovative products and services to help improve the experience of our business users through your contributions to the team’s delivery goals.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in database design, development, and performance optimization as a Senior Database Engineer, with at least 3 years experience working with sophisticated IT projects/initiatives in an Agile methodology framework
  • BS or above in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong experience in SQL and PL/SQL.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle databases, RAC, Performance & Tuning and SQL Tuning
  • Expertise in Database Design, , ETL strategies, HA and DR strategy options to maintain RPO and RTO targets
  • Build, Deliver, Configure, and maintain Oracle in a Cloud Infrastructure like AWS
  • Experience crafting, building, and deploying applications in a DevOps environment utilizing CI/CD tools.
  • Experience in Database Performance Tuning and Production Support
  • Experience with Git/Bitbucket Server (Stash), Jenkins, and uDeploy are a plus
  • Knowledge and/or awareness of web/application development technologies that will integrate with the back-end database such as Java/Spring MVC, Spring Core, Spring Boot, Angular, Node JS
  • Outstanding problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Optimally work in a fast paced, dynamic environment to help the Agile team achieve their goals

  • You will participate in architecture, technical design, and product implementation discussions.
  • Experience in financial services a plus
