The Role

Are you driven by curiosity and love to seek answers? We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with solid experience in data pipeline engineering and operations. This person will be responsible for crafting and implementing the data pipeline for Personal Investing’s Technology Insights and Analytics team.   

This is a hands-on data engineering role that requires strong technical skills and knowledge of cloud automation tools, & software engineering methods. You will work on the development of data services that are used by delivery teams across the business.

In this role you will take care of a variety of different datasets and pipelines. You will craft secure, scalable, resilient cloud-based services!

Independently research, recommend and build features and technical solutions that provide accurate answers to meaningful questions.

Create automated data pipelines that include data automated profiling governance, tracking, reporting and visualization of data lineage.

Share your business and technical knowledge with peers, partners, and management through effective communication.

Deliver solutions that empower users to generate their own insights and answers to questions relevant to them.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a Technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent experience

AWS and/or Azure certification

Experience with languages such as: Python, Shell Scripting, Terraform, Go, and so on…

Knowledge and hands-on experience with: CloudFormation, YAML, Vault, Bitbucket, Artifactory, CloudWatch, and DataDog.

Pipeline automation tools: Spark, Data Build Tool (DBT), Airflow, Jenkins, Jenkins Core, and uDeploy

Experience with DevSecOps in general and infrastructure as code concepts, and source code tools like Git.

PostgreSQL database administration and operations.

Expertise with using RESTful APIs.

Strong dedication to high quality and standards for your code and your team’s code.

Strong desire and interest in learning new cloud technologies.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to mentor individuals and teams on your proficiencies and skills.

Experience with Alation data catalog, AWS QuickSight, AWS Athena, Apache SuperSet, Presto, Open Lineage, Delta Lake or Hudi are nice to have, but not required.
