Job Description

Position Overview:

The Senior Compensation Specialist will be a key member of the PeopleOps team working on projects regarding the delivery of Compensation programs and processes. The Senior Compensation Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring Bechtel’s compensation programs, systems and processes are considered adequate and reliable in accordance with a variety of governmental requirements.  The Senior Compensation Specialist will be involved in a variety of compensation activities including the following:

  • Leads Performance Management and Total Compensation planning for GBU
  • Assists with preparations and execution of global compensation programs.

  • Engages with business leaders and HR contacts to ensure consistent delivery of compensation programs that are in line with business needs and enterprise goals.

  • Performs market competitiveness reviews and develops and implements compensation strategies to address issues when necessary.

  • Participates in survey submittals and results analysis.

  • Assists with DCAA Audits and information requests.
  • Completes the annual incurred cost submittal.
  • Participates in government contracting specific compensation surveys
  • Works with Government Services on issues related to compensation and allowability
  • Performs SCA Project setup and administration oversight.  Conducts SCA training and consultation for Projects and Functions.  Consults with projects, legal, COE, and PO on SCA-related issues.
  • Provides subject matter expertise to design, development, administration, and problem-solving of LLC compensation programs.
  • Collaborates with Business leaders, HR Business Partners, and Communities of Expertise (COE) to support and advise managers on compensation-related activities such as new hire offers, promotions, job evaluations, etc.
  • Consults with Business Development in the development of estimates for proposals. 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Level I: Degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent and a minimum of 9 years progressive professional Human Resources experience including compensation planning, development and administration of compensation programs or in lieu of a degree 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Level II: Degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent and a minimum of 13 years progressive professional Human Resources experience including compensation planning, development and administration of compensation programs or in lieu of a degree 19 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have the right to work in the US without work permit sponsorship.
  • Certified through WorldatWork as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or possess the ability to obtain certification within a two-year period.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  Working knowledge of human resource information systems related to compensation.  Understanding of compensation practices and laws affecting compensation, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Service Contract Act (SCA), Equal Pay Act, etc.
  • Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments. Must have the ability to adjust quickly and effectively to changing priorities and deadlines and provide timely responses to our customers. Required to show initiative, be self-motivated, detail-oriented, flexible and organized to work in a fast-paced team-based environment. Contributing team member who is willing to step in to support critical department deadlines as required.  Must be able to work flexible and/or additional working hours during Key Compensation program initiative time periods.
  • Compensation experience in DOE/DOD Government Contracts.     #LI-CC1
