Role Summary
Responsible for helping build and execute enterprise-wide communications plans that inform and influence perceptions about Cox’s products and services among internal and external audiences.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Creates, writes and edits various communications tools, including press releases, Cox.com, intranet communications, events, videos and announcements for internal and external audiences for all Cox markets.
Provides corporate executives, supervisors and other managers with appropriate messages, tools and training to help them effectively communicate the benefits of Cox’s products and services and the understanding of the company’s enterprise-wide goals.
Evaluates and implements improvement strategies for external audiences and internal communications about Cox’s products and company-wide priorities.
Assists with programs that improve corporate- and field-based employees' understanding of our goals and how they contribute to our success.
Maintains and contributes to internal communications channels with product, corporate social responsibility, Cox Conserves, competitive readiness, and diversity and inclusion information.
Provides information, guidance and leads cross-functional teams of corporate- and field-based public affairs, marketing, customer care, and operations personnel during company-wide crisis events that impact corporate reputation among employees, customers, potential customers, media, and government officials and regulators.
Qualifications:
Minimum
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or a related field.
2+ years of experience in Communications
Must have strong written, oral communications and copy-editing skills
Must be able to work with employees at all levels, including senior leadership
Must possess strong project management skills and be detailed oriented
Must be a self-starter and be able to demonstrate initiative
Must be familiar with the use of technology for internal communications, including employee intranets, collaborative networks, social media platforms and other electronic tools, as appropriate
Must be able to work in a changing environment.
Agency and previous corporate and enterprise-wide experience working in a similar capacity are a plus.
Should be experienced in communicating with both internal and external audiences.
Should be able to work in a collaborative environment and as part of a team.
Should be flexible and willing to support a variety of projects.
Preferred
BS/BA in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Communications, Journalism, etc.).
Experience in telecommunications industry desired
Agency and previous corporate and enterprise-wide experience working in a similar capacity are a plus.
Strong PowerPoint, image editing capabilities and basic video editing skills preferred
