What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting the sales team to secure profitable and deliverable new business
- Assisting and providing commercial oversight in deal shaping, negotiations & contracting
- Advising on client contract contracting vehicle type and commercial model
- Managing competitive dialogue processes
- Ensuring all customer and supplier bids/contracts are approved and reviewed in line with deal approval governance and policy prior to submission/signature
- Identifying, managing and reporting on key commercial / legal risks (legal risks to be communicated to Legal function and ongoing appropriate support / liaison to be maintained)
- Providing client contract briefings and assure commercial obligations during mobilisation and/or demobilisation/exit
- Providing in-life client contract management support
- Supporting the business by owning and performing the ongoing admin of contracts (including the provision of contractual templates / tool kits, and delivering notices)
- Supporting & advising on commercial disputes, lead settlement negotiations and define and record settlement terms (except in case of formal dispute/litigation)
- Acting as a direct specialist point of contact to the business on all commercial matters including contract archival, retrieval, storage
- Developing the business relationship with the client-side procurement/contracts function
- Member of Client Partner Leadership team
- Full engagement and contribution to Market Vertical management team on strategic and tactical forecasting/planning and implementation in accordance with business plans
What we’re looking for:
- Experienced senior commercial individual who has track record in bidding for, negotiating and managing significant sales & supplier contracts
- Has extensive commercial and contracts experience and demonstrable track record of owning and delivering pre and post contract activity, including:
- Defining and/or advising on the commercial strategy for the bid lifecycle and/or customer engagement
- Analysing and managing risk including assessing the revenue opportunity vs. cost and risk
- Managing and securing internal approvals for new bid opportunities
- Managing the commercial viability of bids
- Leading negotiations encompassing multiple disciplines including supplier negotiations and flow-downs
- Excellent knowledge of contract law and its application in SW / IT / BPO / Professional Services environments
- Good working knowledge of GDPR
- Modelling and testing contractual KPIs
- Sound financial acumen (P&L, cashflow, balance sheet) and good understanding of financial modelling, contract pricing and differing pricing models
- Producing reports and summaries (ad hoc and regular) which articulate key matters for a senior and/or non-commercial audience
- Experienced in defining, driving and overseeing commercial & contract governance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in line management responsibilities of commercial colleagues
- Strong leadership style focussed on engagement and driving to outcomes:
- Strong & confident communicator able to successfully engage and influence at all levels of the organisation, including up to Divisional Management and senior members of Functional Teams
- Champion to both the business and the Commercial function as a cross-functional leader and internal influencer
- Confident decision-maker
- Starter – Finisher: seeing activities through to successful completion whilst creating a platform for engagement & collaboration
- Resilient and self-motivated
- The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Ideally qualified to degree level or equivalent achieved through extensive and demonstrably successful experience
- Industry Standard and/or Professional Body accreditations desirable [e.g. IACCM, ICM or MCIPS]
