Senior Clerk of the Works

Location: Birmingham

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Clerk of Works to join our projects team in Birmingham.

You will be providing appropriate input into the tender documentation with regard to specifications, workmanship, standards, quality and procedures. Review of design, drawings, specifications, employer's requirements, contractor's proposals and other technical and contract documents as necessary.

You will carry out regular visits to site to inspect the construction work and complete reports on all works.

We implement project processes and governance throughout the project life cycle to manage risk and optimise performance.

Job Description:

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing appropriate input into the tender documentation with regard to specifications, workmanship, standards, quality and procedures.
• Review of design, drawings, specifications, employer's requirements, contractor's proposals and other technical and contract documents as necessary.
• Providing input into material selections and advising on standards and suitability. Advising on compliance with current Building Regulations, NHBC and other third party accreditation requirements.
• Regular visits to site to inspect the construction work (a minimum of 1 no. visits per site per week from Start on Site until Practical Completion).
• Provision of weekly written reports on the quality of construction on site following the site inspections.
• Attendance at design updates meetings from Contract Award.

What we’re looking for:

• Extensive experience within a similar role within construction
• NEC3/4 Engineering and Construction Contract. Desirable
• Experienced in written reports on the quality of construction on site following the site inspections.
• Hold a Full UK driving licence
