Are you a Senior Business Analyst who has an interest or is currently working within the world of data?

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Data Team!

Data is key on everyone’s agenda and as we embark on a new company strategy with data at the heart of all initiatives, we need to expand our BA team to support this. Data is at the forefront of everything we do and the decisions we make whether it is understanding historical trends or for predicting forecasts. You could be at the heart of shaping how our decision makers get hold of this data and how ASOS can really power our growth. 

As a Senior Business Analyst in Data at ASOS you will play a key role in working with our stakeholders to find out how ASOS can best use the vast amount of data available, so our business can make the most informed key decisions.

We work with all business areas across the whole of ASOS with the vision to harness the power of this data to fundamentally change the way that people experience fashion.

What you will be doing:

• Work closely with our ASOS stakeholders from all areas of the company to understand business problems to influence prioritisation of backlog items in alignment of enterprise wide strategies and what brings the most business benefit to ASOS

• Understand business processes and work with business and technical teams on improving them

• Elicit and validate the non-functional requirements, including performance, implementation design, usability, security & audit, and appropriate legislative requirements. Communicating the requirements using appropriate documentation

• Responsible for understanding and eliciting the requirements within the area of data across entirety of ASOS and transferring them into stories within AzureDevops

• Responsible for assessing high level requirements to provide high level impact of the change

• Coordinating user acceptance testing

• Understanding the use of data to add a business lens to data validation

• Work in collaboration with project managers, solution architects, data engineers and QA analysts in delivering data outputs to business users in a variety of areas

• Embedding yourself within a development stream to create and coordinate a backlog of work

• Supporting the team’s Scrum ceremonies and Sprint ways of working, including defining and communicating features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and refinements

• Lead the refinement of the requirements, value and business solution definition, including acceptance criteria working closely with the key stakeholders

• Assess the scale and impact of the business change from the perspective of people, process, technology and data

• Work with the Data Leadership team and business stakeholders to identify and define the business priorities based on business problem– able to express the context of the change within the business strategy and BI Roadmap

• Build strong relationships with end users, to understand their needs and enable them to get the most out of our data solutions

• Mentor and support other Business Analysts in a Team, develop internal BA ways of working

What you will need:

• Experience in business analysis across the full project lifecycle in a fast-paced environment

• Previous exposure to reporting tools and data concepts

• A strong problem-solving mindset, doing what it takes to solve the problem for Proven involvement with customer-facing complex projects and ability to conduct independent business analysis

• Keen interest or experience in data and both the benefits and complexities it can bring

• Experience working closely with internal technical teams (engineers, QAs, SAs) and on projects involving multiple Teams from the organisation

• An ability to articulate technical pieces of work and illustrate the business value behind them

• Ability to prioritise work items by understanding the benefit, value and impact and work with Senior Leadership Team on wider priorities

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills

• Experience in Business Intelligence and reporting (desirable)

• Nice to have skills - basic SQL experience with ability to extract dataset and perform basic data analysis
