The vital role of the Battery Energy Storage System(BESS, PGS1260HD) Configuration Engineer is to support the Technical Lead and System Integration Engineer from concept to production release of the detailed design requirements in the avenues of time, cost and quality for both current production issues and Design cost reduction projects.  This role is responsible for developing and maintaining the integrity of the system teams’ ProE geometry, including concept configuration drawings, JT files, global skeletal coordinate systems, final ESS configuration models, etc. In addition, the ESS Configuration Engineer monitors the ProE models of all COE team from concept through release of any design iteration to manage space claim for seamless ESS integration.  The goal of this role is to maintain integrity of the form, fit and function of ESS by working closely with other functional design areas, as well as the product groups, to ensure consistency in modeling practices and design implementation.  Besides strong technical and ProE skills, this engineer also has a strong working knowledge of JT and other virtual audit techniques to assist the integration  team in conducting design reviews and other audits to produce the highest quality and value product.

• Produce overall ESS layout & manage BOM structure including attachments
• Manages Space Claim meetings & coordinates with ESS arrangements with COE teams
• Performs ESS level Pro/E and Vis-View Audits in support of Safety and Serviceability
• Proactively work with system teams on every day design audits
• Coordinates Reviews with Processing and Manufacturing
• Manage ESS level audit issues list  & maintains ESS level technical specification
• Monitors & manages the ESS level Paint and Lube Group, test specifications, etc.
• Monitors & documents weight distribution of ESS plus maximum ESS weight versus target weight
• Manages & maintains ESS configuration information including shipping data
• Owns & controls ESS coordinate systems in Pro-E, communicates to COEs and component groups
• Interacts with other teams to maintain product-line commonality
• Interfaces with all functional design teams & product group to maintain consistency of ProE modeling practices
• Develop and communicate ESS top level concepts
• Communicates and supports ESS specific functional requirements to system teams
• Co-ordinates styling changes as well as nomenclature, messages and marking requirements

Basic Requirements:  

• Bachelor’s engineering degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Production/electrical
• 5+ years of relevant experience in managing or concepting Product level layout and configurations using tools like Creo, JT
• Basic knowledge of drawing interpretation of Structural parts and electrical wiring harness and schematic is a must
• Experience of working with Global and various system teams(Engineering change reviews and management, design reviews, factory collaboration, virtual audit and build collaboration)
• Experience of system integration (Mechanical components and Electrical components) would be a plus
• Communicate technical information effectively with all stakeholders 
• Willingness to travel domestic/international up to 10% when job role requires
