Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Interprets written business requirements and technical specification documents to design and develop advanced technical solutions that meet business needs in financial industry.
- Collaborates with information technology (IT) and business partners to design, develop, and troubleshoot end-to-end technical solutions.
- Performs complex coding to written technical specifications.
- Tests the resulting coding components in accordance with company standards and as defined in approved testing plans.
- Investigates, analyzes and documents reported defects and raising issues as appropriate.
- Analyzes run time profiles to debug errors that may exist and performs maintenance programming and correction of identified defects.
- Manages large application development and software processes, along with guiding and mentoring lower level professionals.

The Service Now Discovery role is a technically oriented role supporting Service Now discovery across the server, database, storage, AWS and Network device inventory. The ideal candidate will have total of 6+ years with 3+ years of working experience with Service Now Discovery, the Asset and CI Management lifecycle, a background in ITIL, solid infrastructure knowledge and a working knowledge of IT operations.
Responsibilities
- The primary function of this role is engineering automated device discovery and populating the CMDB and Asset Management modules on the ServiceNow platform. The Engineer will require solid knowledge of infrastructure components, understanding of various discovery products (preferably ServiceNow Discovery), hands-on experience designing and implementing large CMDB setup along with automated Discovery solutions and handling MID Servers.
- The Engineer will be expected to engage in team activities around design, development and testing of functionality as well as the release and operational management of the CMDB solution.
- The candidate will be expected to engage with users/stack holders, understand and clearly define their requirements, package those into deliverables and help develop the functionality that meets those requirements.
- A self-starter with an ability to work independently will be expected to take an active role in defining, planning and reporting on their work and it progress.
Required Skills
- 3+ years’ knowledge CMDB and Asset Mgmt. using the ServiceNow platform.
- 1+ years hands-on knowledge using Discovery tools for automated device discovery
- Experience using the in Service Mapping tool to create and manage Business Services.
- Ability to develop custom functionality within the discovery toolset.
- SNOW Catalog development and modification knowledge.
- Understanding of SNOW integration with other tools.
- Ability to integrate and bulk-load data into the CMDB using Discovery tools/Transform map.
- Ability to work with Customers to understand, diagnose and document requirements.
- Process orientated to be able to document, grow and enhance existing solution.
