Job Purpose and Impact
The Agile Coach is responsible for championing agility across the organization and business consumers. In this role, you will assist teams in adopting agile values, principles and best practices. You will work across multiple teams to ensure the effectiveness of approaches used while encouraging teams locally to optimize and continually improve. You will also coach large complex portfolios and programs with multiple teams that need to align to a common set of goals. You will participate as a collaborative partner and coach, participating in real time feedback to provide advice or assistance to teams and team members as they handle and overcome difficult challenges.
Key Accountabilities
- Champion agile values, principles and practices across the organization, collaborating with leadership and coaches to adopt an agile mindset for operational processes to improve value delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Coach and partner with various stakeholders such as product managers, product owners, business stakeholders, agile facilitators, teams and implementation leads to help ensure business strategy and delivery execution alignment.
- Lead and develop strategies for maturing agile adoption and growth by partnering with global agile coaches and leadership.
- Provide hands on agile coaching and partnership to teams, product owners, agile facilitators and leadership which includes introducing techniques that promote a product culture based on flexibility and innovation in a global business environment.
- Assist in identifying and removing organizational impediments to successful agile transformation by conducting agile health checks to assess gaps.
- Build trust, credibility and partnerships with multiple teams to advance agile mindsets and improve value driven results for the organization by working as a change agent while helping teams achieve their agility goals.
- Other duties as assigned
- Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivelent experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in coaching agile initiatives
- Deep experience coaching and training teams in agile mindset, frameworks and practices
- Experience coaching a brand new agile team and setting them up for success
- Experience leading diverse stakeholder engagement
- Demonstrated success working independently in a virtual and global environment
- Certified Scrum or Agile Practictioner (PMP)
- Excellent client-facing communication skills (oral and written)
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified agile coach or practitioner
- Change or process management certification
- Effective skills facilitating, coaching, mentoring, and teaching in an agile team context
- Experience in creating and delivering agile training or workshop material
- Experience helping to define the vision, create a team and improve agility for new initiatives
- Demonstrated self-motivation, analytical, problem solving skills and initiative to achieve desired outcomes
- Experience in influencing and managing cross-functional teams with indirect reporting lines.
- Track record of positively and effectively leading people through change in emotionally intelligent manner
