Summary

The Strategy, Policy and Climate Change Division (SPoCC) is responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the Chief Executive, managing UKEF’s relationship with its Ministers and co-ordinating UKEF’s responses to Parliamentary correspondence, briefings etc, ensuring UKEF’s compliance under the Freedom of Information Act (FoI) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR), developing UKEF’s climate change policy, co-ordinating and delivering UKEF’s international negotiating strategy and advising on international export credit agreements, and providing the secretariat to some of UKEF’s main decision making committees.

Job description

The role is as a Senior Advisor (SEO) in the International branch of SPoCC

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of the UK’s/UKEF’s international strategy on export credits, with a particular focus on the OECD Arrangement on officially supported export credits.

• Support the branch head to represent UKEF internationally to further UK international strategy objectives; and, where required, take the lead in representing.

• Maintain constructive working relationships with colleagues in other Export Credit Agencies (ECAs), guardian authorities and associated organisations.

• Provide advice to UKEF and Whitehall colleagues on the meaning and correct interpretation of the international regulatory framework, and in particular the OECD Arrangement.

• Ensure that UKEF adheres to its international reporting obligations and that UKEF’s obligations are understood and met by colleagues by providing advice and guidance.

• Support Ensure the maintenance of internal control systems so that UKEFs international reporting and compliance obligations are understood and met, and to ensure that contributions to this process are dispatched in a timely manner.

• Prepare updates, briefings and presentations to advise and inform senior management and other departments on the international strategy.
