We are looking for a self-motivated and result-orientated Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role supports and reports directly to the Controller and is responsible for a variety of assignments, including participating in the month-end close process, preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis and reporting. This individual will have the opportunity to greatly impact and improve processes and documentation in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

●   Perform month-end closing duties, including preparation of all recurring, non-recurring and adjusting journal entries, account analysis

●   Reconciliation of the key asset and liability accounts i.e. bank rec, credit card rec, prepaid rollforward schedule, fixed asset roll-forward schedule

●   Prepare balance sheet supporting schedules

●   Perform flux analysis

●   Work with the Supply Chain team to support inventory accounting and receiving of shipments

●   Support weekly cash flow reporting requirement

●   Oversee the work of outsourced accounting clerks

●   Support in the tax compliance i.e. 1099 filing, sales and use tax filing, income tax filing

●   Assist in the annual financial audit and tax preparation, as well as ad-hoc projects

●   Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency while maintaining controls

Work Experience

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

●   Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

●   Must have at least 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing and/or consumer products

●   Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, pivot reporting, VLOOKUP, advanced charting, advanced formulas) is required

●   Experience with Bill.com or similar software

●   Solid, hands-on experience with large ERP systems, NetSuite preferred

●   Superior analytical skills

●   Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results.

●   Strong knowledge of accounting theory, proficiency in US GAAP and authoritative accounting literature, revenue recognition and unearned revenue

●   Comfort in the startup environment and able to create structure and foundational processes

COVID-19 CONSIDERATIONS:

PrettyLitter is located in Los Angeles, CA. Currently, the company is working remotely with optional access to wework offices and quarterly department meet-ups with semi-annual company meetups.
