As a senior accountant, you'll be part of the growing Commercial Lines Organization, with an overall goal of keeping our finances healthy to ensure Progressive remains a strong company.  This position will include review of excess and surplus lines tax returns, payments, journal entries, and account reconciliations.  In addition, you'll review journal entries, account reconciliations, settlements, and other documents prepared for external customers related to reinsurance agreements.  And finally, you'll mentor a lower-level Accountant and/or intern, overseeing their work and providing cross-training and coaching when needed.

Location: Cleveland, Ohio – work from home flexibility is possible

Must-have qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Four years of related accounting experience (two years in corporate or public accounting)

Preferred skills

Master’s degree in Accounting

Strong verbal and written communications skills

Accuracy and attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines and utilize productive work habits

Well-established organizational skills (planning, time management and prioritization)

Self-starter, able to work individually and in a collaborative team environment

Compensation

$60,200 - $80,300/year

Gainshare bonus up to 24% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
