Job Description
The Security Specialists team working at the Communications Center manages multiple activities at the Walt Disney World Resort, including receiving, filtering, and delivering information, dispatching Cast Members to incidents, and writing and distributing mass notifications. As the Security Specialist, you will maintain situational awareness of their assigned properties and ensure flow between all impacted parties. The team partners with others within the Walt Disney World site and local, state, and Federal law enforcement representatives.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming calls, prioritize emergency and non-emergency incidents and deploy Cast Members
- Assess and analyze situations, collect information and prioritize while remaining calm
- Audibly intake and transcribe communication, create documentation for leaders using Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software
- Monitor multiple different alarms monitoring software programs and dispatch all partners for emergency response situations
- Research ongoing communication in external markets that can educate and inform leadership regarding incidents affecting the property
- Use radio telecommunication and computer technology to monitor field operations for Guests and Cast Members
- Develop relationships with Cast Members at all levels and all lines of business to provide excellent service to our Guests and Cast
- Rapid changing priorities in a high pressure and fast paced environment
- Capture important information and quickly in a limited amount of time
- Simultaneously listen, enter data, retrieve information and dispatch services
- Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required
- Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
Basic Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- No more than three (3) attendance notations within last six (6) months
- No disciplinary action within the last twelve (12) months beyond a single verbal reprimand, nor any pending action which may result in discipline at time of consideration
- Written, verbal communication skills; including using telephone and radio
- Experience with standard office software programs
- Maintain confidentially
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Walt Disney World property and resources
- Knowledge of Walt Disney World policies and procedures
- One (1) year of experience with military, police, law enforcement ,emergency management (EM) , emergency medical services (EMS), call center or related field
- Certified 911 dispatcher
- Experience with Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software
- Type thirty (30) words per minute
