We have an opportunity for an experienced security professional to work in our Operational Risk team, providing general managers with advice on matters relating to physical, electronic and procedural security.
The candidate will hold a full UK driving license and be willing to travel within the North of England, Midlands, Wales, and Northern Ireland, involving overnight stays as required.
Your contractual location will be one of our regional hubs, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree remote working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve travel to properties or regional hubs to meet with stakeholders and to carry out work.
Internally this role is known as Operational Risk Business Partner
We're bigger than you think, we're more complicated than we appear and we're larger scale than you'd imagine. We've got passionate people in all our teams, and we've got so much more we want to achieve. We're for ever, for everyone and we really mean that. We don't want to stop at 5.5 million members and we want everyone to feel welcome and enjoy access to our places, so we need to reach new audiences in ways that are meaningful and relevant to them without losing the hearts and minds of those that are already with us.
Our Operational Risk function provides professional guidance to managers at all levels on health, safety, fire, security, access, equality and environmental compliance.
Working with an experienced team of professional staff, you will make regular visits to our amazing properties to review and comment on security issues. You will apply security principles and practice in our heritage setting and deliver high quality professional support to a wide internal client base via site meetings, e-mail and video conferencing.
You’ll be responsible for conducting security audits, advising on and monitoring completion of security improvements and act as a security business partner to the properties and regions. You’ll support integrated operational risk audits and have your own small portfolio of properties to be the first point of contact for advice on risk management. A strong desire for learning through continual professional development about the wider operational risk brief relevant to the unique setting of the National Trust is vital.
You will work for the senior operational risk business partner in the North whilst being closely supported by the national security specialist for the Trust.
The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
Wherever you’re from, and whatever your background, we want to hear from you – and it doesn’t matter if you’re jam first, cream first, or even if you don’t like scones at all. Everyone is welcome.
