The Sea Ray Operations Controller position directs and organizes all controls, accounting and analytics as it relates to the financial activities of the manufacturing facilities that produce Sea Ray. This experienced leader will maintain systems, governance, adherence and accounting of company transactions; and provides financial statements, analysis, and other key performance reporting to drive the best financial performance of the business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees all operations finance and accounting activities across multiple Sea Ray facilities.
  • Conducts monthly closing procedures and prepares monthly financial .statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Monitors SOX compliance of financial procedures.
  • Directs the activities of the plant accounting staff.
  • Oversees timely and accurate operation of all accounting functions including accounts payable, boat invoicing and General Ledger maintenance.
  • Prepares financial budgets and forecasts financial performance on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for submission to corporate management.
  • Interprets division goals, creates cascading plant goals for various levels of management, and creates scorecards to monitor execution.
  • Participates in pricing of product and development of standard costing.
  • Prepares & analyzes internal reporting of plant performance and takes action accordingly.
  • Analyzes cost changes and assists in management of contribution margin over the product lifecycle.
  • Researches and analyzes labor and material usage and recommends strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Keeps Plant Manager, staff managers and supervision informed of division's performance via oral presentations and written communication and provides advice and training on all financial matters in one-on-one and/or group settings.
  • Responds to plant and corporate management for special projects, financial reports and analysis.
  • Monitors and enforces accounting systems and procedures and revises as needed to ensure maximum internal control and utilization. Trains internal personnel on accounting policies and procedures as needed.
  • Supervises disbursement of company funds to terms and in line with company policy.
  • Assures fixed asset physical control and communicates to corporate headquarters all required information.
  • Keeps abreast of current trends, practices and developments in the profession, and makes recommendations for implementation.
  • Prepares required IRS and governmental reports and responds to inquiries.
  • Maintains Plant Production Projection.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • BSBA in Accounting and Finance, required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience.
  • Previous Manufacturing controller or finance experience required.
  • CMA or CPA license.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Cost Accounting.
  • Ability to manage and analyze large amounts of data using Excel.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, public groups, peers and staff.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection.
  • Preference towards experience with manufacturing and publicly traded companies.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization.
  • Experience with measuring, driving and delivering LSS and VAVE projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross functional teams to reach a common goal.
  • Flexible and self-starter; able to multi-task while also being detail oriented and manage tight deadlines.
  • Proficient with MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
