Job Description

Brunswick’s Integrated Manufacturing Center (BIMC), located in Merritt Island, Florida, supports the growth and development of Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, and other Brunswick boat brands.  This location, formally a Sea Ray Sport Yacht and Yacht facility, centralizes Brunswick’s vertical integration capabilities to deliver efficient, cost effective capacity and productivity planning to the Brunswick boat brands

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

The Maintenance Technician role performs routine maintenance in a large multi-building manufacturing and services facility. Maintenance tasks performed are in a variety of skilled trades areas (welding, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, hydraulics, HVAC, tool and die repair, etc.).  Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repair, including, but not limited to resin and gel equipment.

JOB DUTIES

  • The Maintenance Technician performs general and preventative maintenance of facilities/equipment and completes necessary documentation (paper & electronic form) work/soft copies) associated with maintenance activities to support production requirements.
  • Troubleshoot, rebuild and repair resin and gel equipment safely.
  • Daily job duties will be varied and dynamic, requiring high levels of customer service.
  • Workload will be tracked via daily schedules.
  • Assignments will require responsibility and accountability for quality and timeliness of completion.
  • Analyzing and repair of mechanical problems associated with fork trucks, air compressors, hydraulics, and piping systems.
  • Repair and maintenance of FRP equipment.
  • Fabrication and repair of wood and steel items.
  • Troubling shooting and repair of electrical systems including motor controls and lighting circuits.
  • Technical manuals and code requirements via standard and online media.
  • Maintenance records and required documentation (electronic and hard copy versions)
  • Environmental compliance, planning & remediation
  • Campus cleaning, maintenance Janitorial responsibilities
  • May perform other duties as necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
  • Three – five (3-5) years facility maintenance experience preferred including one-year experience repairing pneumatic and fluid pump spray equipment.
  • Experience with Magnum-Venus internal and external spray systems a plus.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical background and experience. Additional experience in electrical motor controls and programming a strong plus.
  • Experience reading blueprints and schematics and building to specifications.
  • Will be required to be certified in forklift and high lift (genie boom) operations
  • Requires high foot travel and working throughout the facility.  Lifting overhead within prescribed safety limitations.  Working at heights: ladders; rooftops; booms & lifts; work platforms; etc. Working in various manufacturing work environments and working outside through all possible weather conditions.
  • Requires ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, powered and manual.
  • Ability to read measurement devices, including OHM/voltage meters, measuring tapes, calipers, various equipment gauges as required.
  • Ability to use MS-0ffice & other online resources
  • Typically, four (4) days per week at 10 hours per day, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday-Thursday with Friday and weekend overtime as required. 

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must always possess the desire and ambition to work safely and report all hazards to their Supervisor immediately
  • Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.
  • Must be able to physically perform the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, standing, etc. with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to understand all safety related document and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment.
