Job Description

The role of this position is to protect the trademarks of The Coca-Cola Company by assuring the quality of key ingredients used in company products worldwide. Subject Matter Expert with knowledge base acquired from several years of experience in ICP-MS, LC-MS, GC-MS. Performs advanced, complex physical and/or chemical analysis of raw materials, in process products and finished goods; prepares detailed reports with recommendations; performs routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment. Proficient in applying established standards. Works independently; may coach other professionals; Train and instruct analysts/scientists. Knowledge and understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Quality Management Systems (QMS). Lead research projects and develop or validate laboratory test methods or equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy of analytical results. Organize workflow and task schedules to maximize laboratory efficiency.

This position will be based in our Ingredient Quality Department – Florida, located in Apopka, FL. Applicants should have demonstrated, technical knowledge paired with strong leadership skills, attention to detail, strong team work, excellent communication, strategic thinking and ability to innovate. All candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Functional Skills:

  • Perform advanced, complex testing of materials at a high level of throughput using analytical chemistry with mass spectroscopy expertise, such as gas and liquid chromatography with MS-MS and ICP-MS, evaluating ingredients, intermediates and finished products and report results.

  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in analytical chemistry field to evaluate

  • data/information and make decisions, provide solutions to problems, and educated opinions on ingredients or other substances to provide support to bottlers and customers.

  • Expert ability to integrate advanced techniques in mass spectroscopy and to apply the most appropriate techniques to a broad range of problems.

  • Lead research projects and develop or validate laboratory test methods or equipment (sampling, monitoring, analytical procedures) in order to ensure reliability and accuracy of analytical results. This may include performing capability studies.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Good Laboratory Practices;

  • Laboratory/Analytical Instrumentation, including instrumental theory, operation,

  • maintenance and ability to operate, modify and repair laboratory instruments, LIMS and Quality Management Systems.

  • Ability to communicate technical information both verbally and in written reports that is understandable by technical and non-technical audiences; to produce report of results and recommendations that is clear and concise. Build technical relationships. Ability to read, write and speak the English language is required.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD, Master of Science or Bachelor of Science with relevant experience

  • 3-5 years relevant experience with Master of Science

  • 7+ years’ experience with Bachelor of Science
