We are seeking an exceptional scientist to join the Computer-Assisted Drug Design team. As part of our team, you would utilize structure-based and ligand-based computational chemistry methods together with machine learning to design molecules with superior pharmacological properties. You will be expected to proactively generate testable hypotheses, design/execute complex computational experiments, provide in-depth analysis and interpretation of results, and translate them into actionable molecular designs that advance the discovery portfolio. Through close collaboration, clear communication, and technical excellence, you will work with scientists across the R&D organization to influence the pipeline from target identification and modality selection through to candidate nomination.
As part of our team, you will use computational methods to drive therapeutic projects from target ID through candidate nomination. You will collaborate with scientists across R&D to evaluate potential drug targets, design novel molecules, and predict potential liabilities. You will apply scientific creativity and passion to contribute to our mission of discovering new medicines.
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS:
PhD in a relevant field with 0-5 years postdoctoral experience
In-depth knowledge of computer-aided drug design, computational chemistry, cheminformatics, or computational biology
Experience using computational approaches to drive scientific experiment and design
Strong knowledge of chemical and protein structure
Basic knowledge of medicinal chemistry and biology
Background in statistical analysis, cheminformatics, machine learning or data visualization
Basic competency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python preferred)
Aptitude and desire to learn and apply new techniques
Personal attributes of independence, integrity, creativity, problem solving, and strong work ethic
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team across geographic areas to advance discovery projects
Excellent communication skills
