Scientific & Regulatory Affairs Specialist
The SRA Specialist is responsible for a variety of regulatory activities related to raw materials, finished products, labeling, claims, packaging and regulatory database management. This role will ensure compliance with applicable food and other product-related laws and regulations in accordance with internal processes and within assigned areas of responsibility in assigned countries. Proactively identifies potential regulatory problems, takes action as appropriate to minimize or eliminate such problems and performs other duties to assist in creating a positive SRA environment for our products and business goals.
What are we looking for?
Bachelors degree in technical area such as Standardization, Chemistry, Nutrition, Food Science or Biology.
Minimum of 1 year experience in Regulatory Affairs with food products, including knowledge of North America food and food contact legislation
What would your key responsibilities be?
Assuring Claims, ingredients, formulas, labeling, artwork and packaging are in full compliance with laws and regulations as well as internal standards/policies.
Proactively monitors regulatory activities in the region. Determines current and expected regulatory status of new ingredients and additives. Researches interpretations regarding the safety and acceptability of products and ingredients and ensures that SRA databases are up to date and contain the best current information.
Responsible for creation and maintenance of internal standards for finished products.
Participates on project teams, anticipates regulatory issues and works with legal counsel, consultants supplies, trade associations and external partners to clarify and resolve these issues.
Assists with the preparation and submission of documentation to regulatory agencies and other external bodies required to substantiates and approve claims and to gain approval of new ingredients.
Assists in activities related to packaging regulatory approval and packaging quality management standards
Performs other regulatory related assignments as needed.
