The Analysis and Insight team is critical to the success of Strategic Planning & Stress Testing. The team will work in partnership with senior management across the Group and will be supporting commercial, capital, strategic decisions through insightful analysis. They will operate in an exciting and challenging environment, providing guidance and analysis to the firm's decision makers. They will also gain close interaction with key stakeholders across the business divisions, back office functions and regions.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Scenario Analyst - Strategic Planning & Stress Testing.

The purpose of the role is to support the coordination of Valuation in Resolution (ViR) for Core Finance, and execute Valuation 3 activities to deliver financial information to assist the board with decision making through a resolution scenario. The role holder is responsible for supporting the production of forecast financials, and equity valuations to support restructuring decisions and management actions, alongside corresponding insightful financial analysis and commentary.

In this role, you will:

  • Support coordination of Valuation 3 for Core Finance to ensure timely and complete submissions to Resolvability Assessment Framework (RAF) command and control and Group governance;
  • Support the execution of Valuation 3 runbooks to contribute to annual attestation of sufficient ViR capabilities to the Bank of England;
  • Support the Valuation 3 lead in providing insight to Group CFO / GRC / ERRC during ViR exercises, to inform decision making for resolution;
  • Support preparation and review of Valuation 2 reporting to the Independent Valuer and Bank of England;
  • Support the development and delivery of robust Top-Down Guidance for the annual ViR cycle;
  • Work collaboratively with Stress testing, Planning, Finance and Risk to support these teams in performing their tasks for ViR;
  • Ensure compliance with Group Standards Manuals and the appropriate Functional Instruction Manuals;
  • Support the maintenance of the Valuation 3 control framework and Valuation 3 outputs to ensure submissions are made in a timely manner, are accurate and adhere to high standards;
  • Balance additional regional requests against a Group view to standardize and simplify the MI that is provided.;
  • The role holder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global, Area or Local Compliance teams.
 

Qualifications

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience working within financial services industry, with an understanding of the regulatory and legislative framework is essential;
  • Able to manage customer demands, across the various matrices of responsibility, while delivering to tight deadlines is critical;
  • Able to demonstrate financial and business analytical experience, showing understanding of what drives reported financial numbers;
  • Proven delivery skills and experience in supporting financial regulatory reporting or regulatory exercises;
  • An understanding of financial statements, finance processes and finance systems;
  • Ability to articulate issues and practical solutions, and drive through their execution in a collective and timely manner;
  • A team player, who demonstrates a drive for excellence and ways to improve processes and outputs;
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal), planning and organisation skills;
  • A self-starter who is not afraid to speak up and face a challenge; also open to listen to guidance and learn as they go.

The base location for this role is 8 Canada Square, London.
