Job Description
If you want to make a difference and help build the future, we are seeking a Sales Director to join the Label and Graphic Materials Group Sales organization. In this role you will lead a team of regional sales professionals and will be responsible for planning and leading all sales activities with accounts in the eastern region of the United States.The successful candidate is a self-starter, seasoned professional, who can identify opportunities to grow the commercial business, provide solutions to our customers, and develop a team of sales professionals.
Key responsibilities:
Employee Development
Train and provide development opportunities for a regional sales team. Ensure annual goals are complete and communicated. Ensure Global Performance Management System is up to date and regular feedback is provided to staff members.
Attract, retain and develop high potential talent.
Model and promote the Corporation’s Code of Business Ethics and Values.
Perform general management duties, exercising authority concerning staff, performance appraisals, promotions and terminations.
Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
Act as a team role model and change-agent.
Positively lead and influence team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.
Coordinate team efforts, build and lead a regional strategy and team operating plan.
Excellence in Execution – drive near-term results and performance
Overall responsibility for handling Sales efforts for business unit or units.
Achieve maximum levels of productivity, ensuring that the business benefits from the lowest possible cost and best value.
Responsible for clear, focused leadership to further reduce the barriers to delivering driven advantage via global size and scale.
Actively engage in applying company standard methodologies to increase efficiency and profit margins.
Responsible for delivery of short term and long term results in order to develop and maintain the organization’s credibility with the business and creating opportunities for the function to add greater value to the business.
Translate market trends and customer needs into useful goals that create competitive advantage.
Strategic Transformation and Long-term strategy development
Develop and implement long-term Sales strategies that are geared toward developing greater market share and profitability.
Define the value proposition to the market, customers and industry including service, price and product platform strategies
Set pricing strategies and supervise pricing and profitability with product line leaders
Develop and implement appropriate business plans/multi-generation product plans to identify trends, opportunities for marketplace advantage, and new insights for products, processes and services.
Develop Sales objectives, goals, strategies and measures (OGSM) for assigned area and confirm linkage to global business strategies.
Develop personal contacts with major clients.
Play a key role in negotiations of major contracts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred.
10+ years of successful sales or related experience. Industry and product experience preferred.
Strong experience in strategic Sales leadership needed, international exposure preferred.
Demonstrated success in cross-regional projects or initiatives.
Strong experience negotiating large/major contracts.
Sophisticated business and financial foresight required
Experience in planning and forecasting, with practical experience in researching new opportunities and implementing successful account penetration.
Must be able to champion new business ventures. This will require excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
Experience in strategic leadership and negotiation.
Strong ability to work as part of a team and navigate a cross-functional matrix organization
Skilled in communicating and influencing effectively with all levels of management on sophisticated business issues.
Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Google G Suite and Salesforce.com.
Required Travel: 60-70%
