We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager assisting and advising the Head of Site Services and Project Managers in all matters of construction/alternations on site FM Health and Safety and actively maintaining a high level of awareness of Health and Safety practice and legislation. The role also involves supporting safety inspections and ensuring safety audit programmes are carried out in accordance with UKHSA safety policies and assisting in ensuring that all safety documentation including risk assessments, are available, comprehensive and up to date. You will also assist in the implementation of ISO 9001 in FM Services.
The role includes development, training and continuous improvement interface with operational leaders and teams.
Develop and administer procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements in specialist areas including the Fire Risk Assessment and inspection
Carry out regular audits of the health and safety systems for control of contractors
Provide practical support for the preparation for, and manage and organise, inspections by third party assessors, including UKAS and ISO 9001 assessors
Ensure safe systems of work are in place and implemented in accordance with UKHSA policies and systems
Author, manage and review risk assessments
Work with the Safety Advisors and other departmental Safety Officers to ensure consistency of approach
Take part in safety investigations, ensuring timely progression of health and safety actions
Assist in arranging and delivering construction health and safety training
Participate in emergency and unplanned events
Assist in the preparation and update of the site Risk Register
Assist with the monitoring and evaluation of actions arising from incidents, inspections and audits and write reports to highlight issues and provide information to management
