As part of their digital transformation strategy, VirginMediaO2 has established an Automation Centre of Excellence (CoE) to execute the automation of their customer-facing and back-office processes. These business processes must be executed faster with the aid of Automation toolsets, with accuracy and in some cases, in real time to support end-to-end digital customer journeys. The Automation CoE is responsible for the automation of VirginMediaO2 processes to support this strategic initiative.
From this perspective, the Automation CoE is a critical capability which will enable the business to transform its business model and support digitisation and vast operational efficiencies.
About the role
As an RPA Tester you will work with developers and business stakeholders to review solution designs, validate, and oversee execution of test cases to verify requirements have been met. You will be a self-motivated proactive individual who can contribute to the successful delivery of testing in all Automation projects
Key Responsibilities
- Review and understand solution designs for automated processes
- Work with Product Owners and developers to agree test cases and their acceptance criteria
- Validate end to end test scenarios to cover solution requirements, and discuss these with senior stakeholders for their approval
- Request test data sets to cover the pre-agreed test scenarios and manage this data to ensure it is still viable/usable at point of testing
- Oversee the testing of newly developed solutions (Digital Workers), to ensure high quality has been provided
- Perform Regression testing in an agile environment with deployment of new releases (Fix forward release)
- Identify defects within the solution and prioritise these, ensuring development team have raised in Jira and track through to closure
- Work within an agile framework within sprints
- Ability to execute testing tasks independently, yet work collaboratively within the team
- Create a culture of transparency, ownership, collaboration, accountability, and quality
- Work cross-functionally with various stakeholders including release managers, test leads, and other suppliers and stakeholders
- Good communications skills and ability to articulate the impact of defects to non-technical stakeholders
- Be an advocate of Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement and industry recognized Best Practices
You will be accountable for ensuring:
- Each opportunity will have their own unique test process, outlined within the Master Test Plan
- Able to identify issues as early as possible in the delivery cycle (referred to as shift left).
- Static testing with End Users/SMEs – validates key parameters/input fields/folder locations
- Involvement in sprint planning – build to demo to End Users/SMEs as early as possible
- Able to execute Show & Tells with key stakeholders – End Users/SMEs/Application Owners after each sprint
- Testing criteria defined and entered in Jira
- Creation of master test plan and ensure sign off by business stakeholders
- Test Exit Reports are generated for all quality gates (Dev, Test, UAT, NFT and PIT)
- Coordination of testing is performed for PIT, alongside development and support teams
What We Need from You:
Essential Skills:
- Good communication skills are a must
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience of testing Business Processes
- You will have proven experience working with Jira and Confluence
- You will have proven experience working with Jira data to produce programme and Sprint level reports
- You will have experience using tools including MS Project
- Knowledge of Automation project methodology would be advantageous
- You will have excellent reporting presentation skills
- You will understand how to capture requirements and user stories for development
