We are excited to look for a Risk Manager to join our Avery Dennison Risk Department! As a Risk Manager, you will be a key part of the Risk Management team, providing leadership in insurance and risk management reporting to the Director, Risk Management.
Job Location: flexible in Northeast Ohio area within reasonable commuting distance to our office located in Mentor, OH; candidates have the option to be on a hybrid model.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage the following insurance programs including all renewal items, claims and insurance recovery process for:
o Global Property
o Stock Throughput
o Pollution Legal Liability
o Trade Credit
o Crime
o Fiduciary
Provide support to the business units as needed for these programs (i.e. coverage questions, certificates of insurance).
Lead the business units with business continuity planning and business impact analysis reviews.
Collaborate with the business units, leadership, EHS and our insurance carrier on property loss control initiatives that help protect the company’s assets and earning potential.
Lead the vendor relationships for the lines of coverage above, ensuring they provide best-in-class service while meeting specified servicing deliverables.
Oversee the department’s annual operating plan, including preparation of monthly and quarterly variance reports as part of the annual budget process.
Partner with HR in managing the security/workplace violence program.
Continuously identify areas of improvement for our programs as well as cost-saving initiatives.
Manage the departments Risk Management Information System and intranet portal.
Work with the Director in supporting the company’s semiannual Enterprise Risk Management process.
Work with the Director in supporting Avery Dennison’s captive insurance company.
Assist in M&A due diligence and insurance-related needs.
Perform other related duties requiring a high degree of judgment and discernment in handling sensitive and confidential matters, as assigned.
Work to enhance the departments visibility and value we add to the company.
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Accounting, Finance or related field. MBA or legal background is a plus.
â— 6 years or more experience working either in a corporate risk management environment with global risks or at an insurance broker/consultant working on large, complex, global accounts, with 3+ years supervisory or lead experience preferred
â— ARM Certification or similar insurance certification a plus or willingness to obtain certification.
