Becoming a Revenues Enforcement Officer for Capita Local Government

Location: Loughborough with the opportunity to work from home

Salary: £19,000 per annum

Working hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

As a Revenues Enforcement Officer, you will contribute to a highly effective Revenues and Benefits Service, with primary responsibility for recovering Council Tax unpaid debt.

Job Description:

What you’ll be doing:

• To work as part of the Billing and Recovery Team, dealing with all aspects of Council Tax administration and debt recovery using effective management of debt and recovery processes.  Pursue recovery through the speediest, cost-effective and efficient methods, in accordance with the law and Council policies.
• Liaise with customers over the phone or in person to negotiate acceptable payment agreements within defined guidelines
• Monitor accounts and intervene at an early stage if customers default on their repayment arrangement.
• Undertake your duties in accordance with data protection, maintaining data security and confidentiality at all times.
• To discuss with your Team Leader unusual, complex or sensitive cases.  Ensure that vulnerable debtors are given support and help when arranging a suitable repayment plan.
• Setting up of Attachment of Earnings and benefit orders where appropriate and monitoring payment
• Liaise with Enforcement agencies supporting debt recovery activities
• Assist colleagues in preparation for Court Hearings and support of customers pre hearings
• Attend court hearings and other meetings, as may be required.
