Job Description

The successful candidate will have solid experience of working in a revenues environment and sound understanding of the law relating to Council Tax and/or Non-Domestic Rates. You will have demonstrable technical knowledge of at least two of these applications and experience of dealing with complex Non-Domestic Rates and/or Council Tax queries. You will have good numeracy skills and literacy skills, be able to prioritise workloads and have excellent communication skills.

Training will be provided to enable personal development along with opportunities to learn a variety of different IT skillsets.

What you will do:

  • Fault investigation, resolution and reporting

  • Play an active role on change management

  • Liaison with third-party software suppliers and users

  • Testing and evaluation of system upgrades and new software releases

  • Implementation of change requests, raising with application support and monitoring where necessary

  • Support of the document printing process including the creation of documents, maintenance of existing documents and resolution of printing related issues

  • Extracting information from databases via SQL and presenting this in a usable format

  • Full involvement with Annual Billing and Year End processes including Testing and Live processing

  • Consultancy to external and internal Clients as an when required

You and your experience:

  • Enthusiastic, friendly and confident with a positive attitude

  • Excellent customer care & communication skills

  • Math’s and English GCSE (or equivalent) grades C or above

  • Competent using MS Outlook,

  • in-depth knowledge of Non-Domestic Rates and/or Council Tax•Previous

  • experience using One Revs and Bens, Northgate, or Civica•

  • Experience of working in a team within a customer focused environment

  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn Microsoft SQL Server

  • IRRV technician level or equivalent

  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn Linux
