• Store planning: Responsible for the monthly store build-up plans that drive our by store/by country/by region financial planning. You will look at trends like footfall, conversion and AOV as lead indicators and will collaborate closely with store operations, the planning team and finance to set the annual financial targets.
• LEGO®.com financial retail planning: You will be responsible for monthly LEGO.com plan & validations, and country level breakdowns. Take us on a journey where we explore bottom up country level trends, and how those lead to a perspective on the total expected sales for online channels across Europe. Close collaboration with the Planning team and commercial channel owners is key.
• Translating shopper trends to planning insight and assumptions: Within the planning team, be the key person looking at shopper data and trends like retention, pcs per order, and new shoppers. Model out potential implications and forward looking demand models based on these.
• Risk & Opportunities: Drive and deliver various “what if†scenarios based on retail insights and secure alignment to scenarios and drive for understanding and likelihood.
• Theme flows: From a retail planning lens, looking at recent trends and drivers, have a perspective on the future looking at theme growth and financial/pcs plans. Validate your plans with item forecasters to secure joint understanding and the highest level of accuracy in forecasts.
• Collaboration & Coherence. Ensure global collaboration and coherence with team members in other regions. Discuss and present data and findings with item level forecasters to secure a joint view on the best possible plan.
• Other/Ad hoc: Various analysis and project work. Potentially also weekly split of demand plans (pending project decision, price indexing and roll up of total toplines for the region).
The retail planning team is a global team based in 4 locations: Enfield, Shanghai, London and Billund. We are responsible for the +18 Month demand plan globally across LEGO® owned branded channels, both physical stores and online. We plan a +14Bdkk annual turnover and have been experiencing hyper-growth in recent years.
The team develops regional by-item and channel plans with strong global ties that you will need to build and leverage where meaningful. In this role you will take an analytical and commercial retail lens to planning. You will build up store and country level plans based on trends and assumptions. These will serve as valuable inputs in terms of balancing item level forecasts towards financial plans with the most accurate output, thereby meeting the customer requirements with balanced risk.
We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of five years planning and analytical experience from a direct retailing business, ideally operating both physical stores and online sales, selling direct to the customer. You will have an excellent analytical mindset and can oversee a large amount of data and draw out patterns and key messages. You will have a well-rounded understanding of retail terminology and processes like financial planning, conversion rates, retention, AOV etc.
In addition, we expect that you have:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree within a relevant field, e.g. Business or supply chain management. You may also have a background in a commercial sector with a flair for processes, numbers and understanding an end to end business process.
• Proven strong collaboration skills across functions, cultures and management levels. Experience working at regional level in a retail environment with local sales locations.
• Strong experience working with Excel/Tableau/Power BI and making it an enabler.
• Strong communication skills. You have the ability to speak in detailed, technical terms with demand planners and marketers, and can communicate this in a concise way to senior leaders.
• A process focused and systematic approach. You get energy from establishing ways of working, new frameworks and ensuring process governance and adherence to these.
• Result orientation and drive, with a winning mindset that thrives in overcoming complex situations.
