Job Summary:
The Professional Intern works with the Resort Sales team on developing new group and convention business opportunities for the Walt Disney World Resort and/or the Disney Cruise Line. In this role the candidate will engage in a broad range of activities that move a sales opportunity from initial lead to confirmed contract. The ideal candidate has a background in the hospitality industry and is interested in learning more about the group and conventions market.

- Assist with the planning, execution, and follow up of client site visits
- Support Sales and Service Managers with pre-planning needs
- Support Sales Coordinators and Managers thru all phases of the sales process
- Solicitation Projects
- Gather Data and Identify Trends
- Actively participate in ongoing training sessions to further enhance current skills
- Lead Management
- Data Entry and System Clean Up
- Coordinate future Product Orientations
- Budget Maintenance
- Various special projects as needed
What you bring to this role...
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Point creating and editing presentations
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast paced environment
- Proven ability to handle confidential information
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Disney Meetings & Event and/or Disney Cruise Line products
- Prior experience in the hospitality industry
- Understanding of market conditions and their impact on meetings and conventions
- Understanding of the Disney product line to include resorts, parks, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Institute, Nat Geo, Disney Event Group and our international destinations
- Proficiency with Siebel or a similar sales/service information management systems
- Experience working with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Business Objects, DSCS, and SAP
Required Education
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university, having completed Junior year and/or through Senior Year. Or must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months of the start date of the internship.
Additional Information
Eligibility:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
- Must be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.
- Must provide full work availability
- All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
- Must provide own transportation to/from work
- Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2023 - June 2023
