Job Purpose

As part of one CGIAR initiative, IRRI is partnering with other CGIAR institutes such as CIMMYT, IFPRI, CIP and IWMI in implementing a large project on ‘Transforming Agri-Food Systems in South Asia’ (TAFSSA)”, the One CGIAR South Asia Regional Integrated Initiative. Working across South Asia, TAFSSA will deliver a coordinated program of research and engagement across the food production-to-consumption continuum to improve equitable access to sustainable healthy diets, improve farmer livelihoods and resilience, and conserve land, air, and groundwater resources. This position will focus on day-to-day assistance/support in implementation of field and other project activities.

This position will be based at the IRRI Country Office Bangladesh and may only be filled by permanent citizens of Bangladesh. 

Roles and Responsibilities

 Ensure routine field works• Implementation of training and other field activities• Bear on with project team and other projects in implementing project activities• Work with project team for regular support and field activities• Organize required materials for field in implementing project activities• Interact with targeted farmers for necessary information, data, and implementation of activities• Engage in institute wide activities as and when required• Collect required data from the field• Record, compile and encode data for reporting• Timely completion of the planned activities• Support in organizing field level farmers’ training and awareness programs• Support in imparting information to farmers• Regularly update supervisor and line managers on field activities• Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor from time to time

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree Agriculture or relevant subject area with at least 1 year of relevant work experience• Higher Secondary Certification (HSC) or Diploma in Agriculture with 2-3 years of relevant work experience in field and rural areasSkills Required• Experience in collecting data and office work• Basic knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g.: Word, Excel)• Experience of working in any national/international research organization• Accountability on delivering assigned activities/ tasks
