The Spatial AI team at Naver Labs Europe invites applications for multiple research scientist positions in the areas of computer science and robotics, who are excited about contributing to the invention and development of new methods, models and algorithms in the field of AI for Robotics. We are currently building the next generation of agents capable of robust high-level reasoning in complex real-world environments.​One of the research lines of the team includes developing AI systems for mobile manipulation, which includes, but is not limited to, collision-free navigation and discovering / learning diverse whole-body contact-rich mobile-manipulation skills by actively interacting with environments. The candidate will work on diverse research activities for developing AI systems targeting real-world applications of mobile-manipulators, which can provide useful physical services to humans in everyday life. Ideal candidates would combine a passion for robotics and its unique problems with an understanding of (and experience in) large-scale machine learning, deep learning and generalization. 

Required skills

PhD or MSc degree in computer science, robotics or electrical engineering.- Experience in applying (deep) learning to control problems- A good peer-reviewed publication track record in machine learning (e.g. ICLR, Neur IPS or ICML) and/or robotics (e.g. CoRL, ICRA and IROS)- A solid background in robotics (e.g. kinematics and dynamics, control, path planning and physics simulation)- Knowledge in latest developments on machine learning, and corresponding development skills, preferably in python (tensorflow, pytorch, etc).- Ability to propose and implement research ideas, evaluate them empirically, analyze them deeply and iterate on them.- Ability to perform collaborative research and work in a team.
