We at BCS are looking for a national Research Manager/Consultant who will be responsible for the below tasks:
The Research Manager/Consultant will be responsible for:• Overall management of the project and serving as a focal point with the clients;• Design and develop project planning and monitoring, including, staff plan, work plan, monitoring, and evaluation framework, and sources of analysis;• Conduct desk review for each project;• Design the methodology and data collection tools such as survey questionnaires, household surveys, FGDs, IDIs, and KIIs according to the need of the project;• Design and develop a database for quantitative and qualitative data collection;• Manage the tools translation, piloting, and revision;• Identify the required number of and lead the recruitment of field staff;• Produce data collection plan, field Workplan, training agenda, and materials according to the project nature and scope of work;• Manage the data collection stage, monitor the field staff work in the field, and provide support and troubleshoot any problems raised during the data collection;• Quantitative and qualitative data analysis;• Draft final report based on the analysis and findings of the project;• Finalize the final report of the project by incorporating and addressing the comments given by the clients;• Ensure the well-organized formatting of the report, including editing and proof-reading;• Present the project's final report in a PowerPoint presentation based on the client’s request.
The Research consultant’s requirements are:• Master's degree and/or Ph.D. in economics, business administration, social sciences, or other relevant fields;• More than 5 years of experience as a Research Manager/Consultant on the projects related to health, education, humanitarian response, gender-based violence, agriculture, values chain, and market assessments funded by INGO, USADI, World Bank, and UN agencies;• Demonstrable research skills such as KAP survey, data analysis, statistics, or survey design;• Proficiency in research design, research report writing, and source of data analysis (SPSS, STATA, Atlas. ti, and Nvivo);• Knowledge of research and experimental techniques for gathering both qualitative and quantitative data.• Familiarity with ODK, KOBO toolbox, and survey CTO Platform for utilized for data collection;• Team-working and communication skills.• Ability to conduct research independently.• History of published articles, studies, or research work.• Proficient in English. Proficiency in Dari/Pashto is an asset.• Previous experience in Afghanistan.
