About the role

Reporting to the Head of Network Insight and Analytics this role is to lead the team responsible for business, operational and performance reporting. Keeping the business inform, drive performance activities and delivery customer and network insight.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the team of reporting specialist, data engineers and visualisation experts.
• Managing day to day escalations and balancing priorities.
• Managing individual objectives for the team including training and development
• Exploratory data analysis to find unknowns from various data sources
• Telling the story & communicating the information and insight generation with insightful and inspiring visualisation.
• Effective communication with stakeholders and be vocal and honest about the network / customer experience and what data tell us.
• Creating and aligning Roadmaps with business needs
• Design and create KPIs that measures how well the business/network performs. In particular that tie network performance to Commercial success and customer satisfaction.
• Forecast KPIs across different scenarios (best cast, worst case, investment scenario A/B)
• Help develop plans to reach strategic goals
• Set targets for KPIs based on underpinned plans

What We Need from You:

Essential Skills:

• Good knowledge of mobile and fixed networks and technologies (2G/3G/4G/5G) and understanding of DOCSIS, IP & Optical networks desirable.
• Experience with modern visualisation and dashboarding software. Tableau preferred. Visual storytelling.
• High levels of computer literacy including all MS office applications. Good mathematical skills including statistics.
• Strong managerial skills from a Data driven background
• Understand and experience of systems in use (Hive/Hadoop, SQL, python, pySpark, Bash/linux, QGIS, BigQuery, Cloud solutions)
• Understanding Machine learning and Deep learning methodology, project structure and success metrics
• Experience using large data sets via Hadoop Hive/SQL, Data Engineering / Visualizations, Google Cloud, Google BigQuery & Data Studio, AWS Athena, Crowdsource, Python and pyspark would also be advantage.
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to lead and motivate others.
• Champion Analytics and Insight team work and be ambassador to wider business.
