ENGIE are recruiting for a Renewables Originator to be based in Leeds (LS12 1BE). This is a permanent role which involves working full-time hours. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Job Overview
The role of Renewables Originator is to lead on the provision of renewable electricity and gas to our retail customers, inform strategy, understand green regulations and seek out new opportunities. The post holder will liaise with ENGIE sales and purchasing teams, brokers, traders and renewables producers in the UK and across Europe.
What will you undertake?
Manage supply of green energy vs demand for green energy from Sales against an annual plan and budget you develop each year
Manage supply of certificates to meet regulatory requirements to ensure regulatory compliance (Fuel Mix Disclosure and Renewables Obligation) and effective external audit compliance
Develop and manage market counterparties to enable commercially beneficial contracts to be struck and development of new products
Work with other ENGIE teams to operationally manage green certificates and processes and report on volume, risk, compliance and financial results on a regular basis to board level
Proactively monitor and disseminate information on regulation and use this along with your knowledge to inform strategy and to develop new offerings and improve existing processes
Manage risks in the green certificate portfolio, through effective strategy, data analysis and developed commercial relationships.
Develop the green certificate business to increase revenue, margin and volumes of green energy and gas. Deliver margin targets from green energy
Co-ordinate contract development with the ENGIE Legal department.

What will you need?
Qualifications
Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent (desirable)
Knowledge & Skills
Well-developed negotiation and customer/counterparty management skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Commercial acumen and ability to spot and exploit opportunities
Wide and detailed understanding of UK Electricity wholesale and Retail markets
Detailed and in depth understanding of Renewables legislation and regulatory framework
Ability to absorb and understand detailed regulatory information
Able to work with internal and external parties at all levels to deliver effective solutions
Able to demonstrate a practical approach to problem solving
Proactive approach to risk management
Proficient in Microsoft Office in particular Excel including the ability to work with large data sets using Vlook Ups, Word and PowerPoint
Experience
Experience in Sales and/or deal negotiation and/or counterparty management
Experience in power/gas industry
Experience of renewables and regulation
Experience of contract development.
