We are looking for two Reinsurance Senior Actuarial Analysts to join our UK Life, Defined Benefit Solutions team (DBS).

Defined Benefit Solutions plays a key role in providing Pension schemes with solutions to meet the needs of Pension scheme sponsors, trustees and members. The Reinsurance team within Aviva plays a key role in achieving this ambition by working with Reinsurance companies and Pension schemes to design capital efficient solutions. The Reinsurance Operations team has sole responsibility for the on-going administration of all in force reinsurance arrangements within DBS Solutions.

This role would fit somebody looking for a challenge and the opportunity to take on responsibility for administering large reinsurance arrangements in an accurate and efficient manner.

Key responsibilities within the role include:

• Producing / checking accurate monthly account and collateral materials for a portfolio of reinsurance arrangements, ensuring a robust control framework and audit trail process is adhered to

• Carrying out / checking detailed analysis of insured data extracts to determine any data changes that have occurred over the year since the last annual exercise for a portfolio of reinsurance arrangements

• Producing / checking accurate annual data cleanse materials, to be provided to the reinsurer, setting out any data changes, that need to be allowed for as part of the exercise

• Producing / checking annual calculation of the revised Premium Schedule and any over/under payment due

• Assisting / checking on-boarding of all new reinsured schemes onto the reinsurance administration system within a timely manner

• Raising payments to Reinsurers and/or Trustees in a timely manner as they become due

• Actively participating in team training sessions within the Reinsurance Operations team and other parts of the Group where applicable (which may involve occasional travel to the London and York offices)

• Assisting the Operational team with queries and support where required with on-going administration of all reinsurance arrangements

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

• Ideally part qualified or making good progress with exams towards achieving the qualification of Fellow of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries, or significant experience in Reinsurance Operations or defined benefit pensions

• A degree within a numerical field looking for a challenge in a fast-paced, growing, reinsurance team

• Experience in Reinsurance Operations or experience of direct involvement in pension transactions

• Knowledge of defined benefit pension specifications

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel packages (VBA coding experience desirable)

• Excellent numerical skills and a good attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills essential for building key relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

• Willingness to develop and progress in the role, highlighting and engaging with any training needs as appropriate
