Reinsurance Operations Analyst – Salary Circa £24,000 National – Circa £28,000 London.
Retirement Solutions plays a key role in providing pension schemes with solutions to meet the needs of pension scheme sponsors, trustees, and members. The Reinsurance team within Aviva plays a key role in achieving this ambition by working with reinsurance companies and pension schemes to design capital efficient solutions. The Reinsurance Operations team has sole responsibility for the on-going administration of all in force reinsurance arrangements within DBS.
This role would fit somebody looking for a challenge and the opportunity to take on responsibility for administering large reinsurance arrangements in an accurate and efficient manner.
A bit about the job:
The role involves supporting the delivery of required reinsurance administration output, some examples of the types of tasks include but is not limited to:
Producing and checking accurate monthly account and collateral materials for a portfolio of reinsurance arrangements, ensuring a robust control framework and audit trail process is adhered to.
Carrying out and checking detailed analysis of insured data extracts to determine any data changes that have occurred over the year since the last review for a portfolio of reinsurance arrangements, and then applying data changes to update reinsurance premiums.
Assisting and checking on-boarding of all new reinsured schemes onto the reinsurance administration system within a timely manner.
Identifying areas where processes can be made more efficient and areas where the risk management could be improved.
Aviva uses “smart-workingâ€, and the person in this role will be based within our Norwich or London office.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills and a good attention to detail and would have experience in Reinsurance Operations or experience of direct involvement in pension transactions, including knowledge of defined benefit pension specifications.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel packages (VBA experience desirable).
Ability to work in a structured and organised way, and to manage multiple deadlines, to ensure that all tasks are completed on time with a good attention to detail to ensure that all materials are produced to a high standard.
Strong communication skills and collaborative outlook required to build relationships and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Willingness to develop and progress in the role, highlighting and engaging with any training needs as appropriate.
