Reinsurance Manager – Salary banding of £50,000 - £60,000 for York / plus appropriate London Weighting for London based candidates

This role is an exciting opportunity to join the Structuring & Reinsurance team here at Aviva, which is part of our market leading Annuity and Equity Release business within UK Life. We are looking for a qualified Actuary who has exceptional mathematical skills, who has extensive experience performing numerical and quantitative analysis within the Reinsurance space.

A bit about the job:

This team’s purpose is to execute longevity and asset reinsurance on Aviva’s annuity liabilities (per annum) – in this role, you will be expected to work collaboratively with our Bulk Purchase Annuities (BPA) Pricing, BPA Deals, Finance and Risk teams, to manage our reinsurer relationships and execute transactions. Key tasks will include liaising with Finance oversight, checking reinsurer credit exposure analysis and monthly MI, as well as regularly analysing and executing reinsurance transactions - therefore advanced MS Excel skills will be required of the incumbent.

Aviva introduced “smart-working” in 2020 and encourage flexible working; however, the successful post-holder will need to travel into either our London or York offices circa 3 days per week.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• You must be either a part qualified or qualified Actuary to be considered

• Advanced mathematical/actuarial and Excel skills, with the confidence to perform numerical and quantitative analysis, with close attention to detail within the Reinsurance space

• Highly developed communication skills

• A willingness and commitment to completing tasks to a high standard, with excellent problem-solving skills 

• A true team player mentality

What you’ll get for this role:

• Annual salary of between £50,000 to £60,000, plus appropriate London Weighting added for London based candidates (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
