We are currently advertising for a Rehabilitation Case Manager based in Eastleigh. The purpose of this role is to support our corporate customers with their absent employees following a workplace injury/incident to facilitate a safe, timely and durable return to work.
Working closely with our claims team, you will be able to use an evidence based, biopsychosocial approach to telephonically evaluate the nature of someone’s workplace injury, symptoms, and functional restrictions for a variety of conditions. You will be able to identify potential barriers within a return-to-work process and consider appropriate intervention pathways to overcome such barriers with the support of our multidisciplinary team.
Training will be fully supported within an experienced team. Learning is continuous with a range of developmental courses provided both in house and externally.
Your working hours will be 35 hours per week, between 8.30am and 5pm. Aviva have adapted to a smart working philosophy, meaning that your time will be split between the office and home.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will need to be efficient and timely in your ability to problem solve, and you will be able to confidently convey rehabilitation decisions in detail with potentially demanding clients.
You will develop a detailed understanding of our rehabilitation partner network in order to best identify the most appropriate and effective form of treatment given the nature of the workplace injury / incident.
You will be required to create and present training modules to the team in line with your qualifications and experience.
You will act as an advocate for the employee throughout, always taking the Equality Act into consideration, while continuing to finely balance the needs of our customers and the commercial implications of each individual claim.
Skills & Experience Required:
Ideally have experience in musculoskeletal injury management and workplace rehabilitation. Allied healthcare qualifications such as Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, Exercise Physiology, OT, Nurse etc would be beneficial, but not essential depending on experience.
Comfortable in taking ownership and accountability in managing the end-to-end process of their portfolio of cases including initial triage call, report writing, considering treatment requirements, communicating with various stakeholders (HR, line managers, claims assessors and health professionals), monitoring recovery, accurately recording outcomes and invoicing.
A demonstrated proficiency in formal report writing and an understanding of mental health and psychological reactions to trauma would also be highly regarded.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to operate on several separate IT platforms (training provided) and be adaptable to changes within a fast-paced corporate environment.

Working at Aviva
At Aviva, we’re people with a purpose. To be with you today, for a better tomorrow.
We bring this to life by ensuring managing risk is at the heart of the way we all work. We love people who do the right thing for our customers, and our colleagues. We want people who speak up, who take ownership, and who make good decisions.
The way we do this is important too, we’re all about our people – that’s you – so we can be pretty flexible. If you want to work from home some of the time or change your hours so you can pick up your kids or care for someone in your family, we’re very open to that. In fact, we don’t advertise roles as either part or full time, because we know each person has different needs, just as each business area has different needs. So, it’s up to you to discuss working hours during your interview.
We care deeply about being inclusive and that means we encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We want our employees to bring their whole self to work and that starts with you.
We interview every disabled applicant* that meets the minimum criteria for the job. Once you’ve applied, please send us a separate email stating that you have a disclosed disability, and we’ll make sure we interview you.
We’d love it if you could submit your application online. If you require an alternative method of applying, please give Alice Neal a call on 0121 200 5926 or send an email to alice.neal@aviva.com.
*As defined in The Equality Act 2010*. By ‘minimum criteria’ we mean you should provide us with evidence which demonstrates that you generally meet the level of competence required and have the qualifications, skills or experience defined as essential to perform the role.
