This role is a key role to support the Global & EMEA Head of Advisory & Investment Banking Coverage RC (AIBC RC) Globally and EMEA and the wider Global Banking RC team, being responsible for coverage of all GB M&A, Sector Coverage, Principal Investment, Sponsors, Corporate Broking, Corporate Risk Solutions as well as Equity and Debt Capital Markets Risk Steward activities. The position holder will be responsible for leading with oversight and management of all aspects of GB RC in relation to Capital Financing and Investment Banking Coverage (CFIBC) within the GB business in EMEA and globally. More specifically, this role is expected to establish and enhance a bespoke regulatory compliance framework for all CFIBC activities in the context of the wider investment bank, across EMEA.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of: Regulatory Compliance Officer

In this role, you will:

• Establish and enhance an in-country bespoke regulatory compliance framework for Capital Financing and Investment Banking Coverage activity in the context of the wider investment bank
• Implement as required policies and systems that ensure that GB’s exposure to regulatory compliance and reputational risks in particular in relation to control and handling
• Lead / liaison with relevant in-country stakeholders within GB and functional teams to provide expertise and support on all Regulatory Compliance matters
• Build, lead, motivate and develop an effective team through communication. Cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand and improves employee engagement
• Focus on aligning the HSBC operating practices with changes in Global Regulatory Compliance Standards and regulatory risk, and ensure that the Regulatory Compliance Framework remains appropriate

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• A good understanding of the conflicts management/control of information issues is essential;
• Conflicts management/control of information experience in the context of universal banks offering corporate banking and investment banking services would be desirable.
• A strategic thinker with the ability to manage and influence stakeholders of all levels is essential.
• Substantial experience in Risk and Operations Management together with business management, preferably from a frontline private side compliance role.
• Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with Regulators is essential
• Ability to work in an international environmental, cross culturally would be desirables.
