Job Description

  • ASOS operates as a centralised global organisation from London HQ. The Regional Trade Manager is a critical junction between the numerous company functions and the market and sits within the Global Trading Team.

    Reporting into the Head of Trading US, and alongside various matrixed central teams, you will be responsible for the day by day management of the countries, for developing the market strategy and executing it, for recommending local trading activity, providing competitor insight, leading pricing initiatives, and identifying and providing input on relevant commercial or technology improvement opportunities. You will also be involved in global initiatives, and work as part of cross-functional teams in London.  

     

    You will be a country champion within ASOS and to the outside world; responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

    • Be responsible for the day to day trading of the websites 

    • Be first point of contact for Trade related queries from the wider team and external business 

    • Alongside the Head of Trading for US, responsible for the day to day management of the US performance, monitor sales growth and long term profitability, with a view to improving both 

    • Support with planning and the delivery of the Online trading strategy. Strive to achieve the Online KPI targets, constantly thinking of new ways to drive sales, conversion and profit 

    • Be responsible for developing and executing a promotional strategy for the UK (deals/offers/price points) 

    • Test/trial new strategies and propositions in the US which can then be rolled out to other markets 

    • Manage the online retail calendar, being aware of the competition and key trading promotions and events to optimise the site 

    • Identify product opportunities and analyse shopping trends and behaviour 

    • Be the main contact for your assigned departments with the core B&M teams 

    • Quickly analyses trading patterns with sufficient level of detail to ensure appropriate action is taken 

    • Provide insight into the local market and competitors. This will include analysis of the proposition of our key competitors, understanding the gaps, insight into price competitiveness etc 

    • Work with the Global team insight analysts to analyse insight from across your territories, tease out insight and translate into actions 

    • Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting for your territories across key customer and business metrics 

    • Responsible for recommendations for and helping the business implement the ASOS global proposition in your country and improve local customers’ experience  

    • Work closely with the Trade Marketing team to shape the local calendar of events and promotions 

    • Work with the Digital Marketing team (Affiliate, PPC, CRM, SEO, PPC, Paid social, Retargeting) to challenge performance and improve campaigns 

    • Work with Supply Chain to ensure service levels are maintained and no opportunity is untapped 

    • Work with other departments such as Customer Care, Direct Marketing, PR etc to ensure optimum performance in your territories 

    • Keeping up to date with market trends and innovation in ecommerce, online fashion retailing and logistics, evaluating this data to present recommendations and new initiatives focusing on customer needs and overall customer experience to the relevant stakeholders 

    • Be a member or leading cross functional teams to support product management or marketing with projects with international scope such as loyalty and new customer acquisition

     

    Skills and experience you will need: 

    • Understanding of the US market 

    • Pro-active, commercial thinking with a strong bias for action 

    • Good knowledge of local fashion retailers (online and offline)  

    • Capable to work in a fast moving and ever changing context, able to deal with ambiguity and handle multiple projects simultaneously 

    • Ability to spot issues, identify gaps and be hands-on in trying to solve them 

    • Creative, curious and innovative – presenting new ideas, approaches and insights to technology, product, ways of working, etc 

    • Strong influencing skills, ability to work across functional teams  

    • Be comfortable with working in global organisations with geographically dispersed and culturally diverse workforce 

    • Great at stakeholder management: getting information, buy-in and support for your ideas across the organisation will be crucial
