Job Description

Avery Dennison is looking for a Regional Sr. HR Generalist for their Lowell, Indiana manufacturing facility. This position will require regional support coverage within Indiana and northeast Ohio. This role will partner with the plant leadership team in presenting, implementing and coordinating HR policies and programs. This role will report into the Regional HR Manager for our Graphics business based out of Fairport Harbor, Ohio.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assists employees in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programs, initiatives, services and/or activities.
  • Responsible for recruitment and organizational planning to facilitate the hiring and retention of high potential employees. Coordinate preparation and placement of recruitment advertising. Assure compliance with EEO regulations.
  • Assist with administration of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements.
  • Conduct ongoing information and training sessions to develop employees, provide support and problem resolution.
  • Be an effective HR coach, observing and giving honest feedback to leaders to help develop their capacity to lead and excel professionally.
  • Promote positive employee-relations at the site and make recommendations to management on how to resolve potential concerns.
  • Conduct detailed and complete investigations into company-guideline violations.
  • May assist in handling administrative duties associated with HR including the support of payroll administration, time and attendance reporting, contract personnel coordination, as well as other daily tasks.
  • Participate in and lead key HR projects or initiatives.
  • Support of regional activities across the Graphics sites in Indiana and Ohio
  • Other tasks / responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • 6+ years HR or related experience.
  • Good strategic problem solver with the ability to take moderately sophisticated projects and see them through completion.
  • Knowledgeable on employment laws, HR procedures and practices.
  • Knowledgeable on function specific activities, such as recruitment techniques.
  • Skilled in multitasking, coordinating and prioritizing work.
  • Skilled in communicating effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to learn and support other key HR systems, such as Performance Management, Organizational Planning, Recruiting.
  • HR PeopleSoft knowledge is a plus. Skilled in running reports, interpreting data and report development.
  • Ability to travel 25%
  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Google Mail, Google Drive, Google Docs, and function specific software (IE. PeopleSoft, SmartRecruiters).
