Job Description
As the Regional EHS&S Lead, Asia Pacific, your main responsibilities would include:
- Develop and communicate a compelling vision/strategy for world class EHSS&S excellence - Drive world class EHS&S performance to new levels of excellence by setting the EHS&S agenda and deliverables and working with local management on key initiatives, plans, developments, legislation and leadership
- Delivers EHS&S KPI performance - Works with all functions to deliver EHS&S leading and lagging indicators, including injury rates for employees and contractors, 2030 sustainability targets, and environmental compliance targets
- Establishes risk management programs for EHS&S - Ensure appropriate plans are in place for emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity at the regional and country levels
- Identify gaps and risks in our EHS&S management systems and implement effective plans to close them
- Support corporate EHS&S agenda including auditing at Ingredion sites and key suppliers and toll manufacturers, ensuring Corporate EHS&S codes are properly implemented as appropriate at all locations
- Maintain external perspective, monitoring industry trends and regulations for new developments in EHS&S tools, best practices, requirements and regulations
- Provide functional expertise and leadership in EHS&S leadership as well as program development and implementation across the region in all functions as the relate to EHS&S
- Provide appropriate tools, training and support local leadership in EHS&S improvement methodologies and make sure that EHS&S staff is duly qualified
- Functional leadership and coaching of plant based EHS&S professionals and remote location EHS&S responsible personnel to develop not only their functional capability but leadership skills
- Ensure Process Safety Hazard analyses are done on time for Capital projects and existing plants in line with the Company policy and methodology.
Qualified candidates will have:
Mandatory requirements:
- 15 years experience, within a professional EHS multi-country role
- Bachelor Degree in EHS discipline or related Engineering Degree
- Experience in a complex matrix-structured, multinational company environment, with high levels of EHS&S performance
- Line management experience in manufacturing – leading a team of direct or indirect reports
- Responsibility across multiple countries essential – ability to modify style to suit varying local cultures in Asia-Pacific while aggressively driving the EHS&S agenda
- Proven record of working closely with senior leadership teams to set and deliver a world class EHS&S agenda, culture & change management experience
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Desirable requirements:
- Specialty chemicals or food industry
- 6 Sigma qualification
- Professional EHS Qualification from Asian country, US, or Europe
