Our Real-world Analytics and Data Science (RADS) division in Business Insights & Analytics (BIA) is looking for early-career researchers who are interested in the real-world application of epidemiology and biostatistics and using real-world data (e.g., electronic medical records [EMR], insurance claims data, registries) to assist in better understanding diseases and interventions. During the two-year fellowship program, the Fellows will gain a comprehensive overview of real-world data analytics within the pharmaceutical industry through practical insights and experiences, expand epidemiologic and statistical knowledge through direct involvement in various projects and assignments, and become highly marketable for employment opportunities within BMS RADS or the pharmaceutical industry in general. Fellows will have the opportunity to conceptualize, implement and disseminate outcomes from a cardiovascular-, immunology- or oncology-related research project. The research study will focus on understanding how real-world evidence is used to support regulatory, health technology assessment and clinical trials strategy and help generate robust evidence generation strategies and tactics.

Real-World Analytics & Data Science (RADS) Overview
RADS is the BMS center of excellence for real-world research and analytics. The division utilizes various real-world data resources to conduct real-world research studies for regulatory use and partners with HEOR, clinical development, patient safety, and medical affairs departments. RADS uses EMR, claims, genomics, and social media data to accelerate clinical development and maximize the potential of BMS products. Real-world data analyses can be used to characterize patient populations, inform clinical trial design, and examine the effectiveness and safety profile of treatments. While upholding a patient-centric mindset, RADS cultivates a diverse and inclusive culture through process excellence, leadership development and team learning.
Eligibility Criteria
Compensation includes a stipend, travel and work from home office expenses. At the end of the first year, fellows’ performance will be evaluated and appointments may be renewed for a second year, performance allowing.
