The Parliamentary Maintenance Team serves both the House of Commons & House of Lords carrying out some 30000 reactive maintenance requests annually on the Parliamentary Estate.
The in-house craft team consist of approx. 45 craft persons and assistants ranging from electricians and plumbers to upholsterers and locksmiths etc who provide a day to day reactive repair service across the estate.
We are currently recruiting a new role of Reactive Team Leader based on the Parliamentary estate in Westminster to manage the day to day repairs of our buildings, including grade one listed and UNESCO world heritage site. You will manage the 3 craft team supervisors, contractors and the help desk manager to ensure calls are recorded and actioned correctly via the most appropriate resource in order to meet our required customer service level. You will use statistical data, site inspections, customer feedback etc to monitor the performance of sub contracted work along with contract meetings and liaising with all parties involved etc to drive continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:
Ability to manage reactive maintenance services and provide leadership to first line managers.
Experience working on large estates and listed buildings.
Good communication skills including the ability to communicate ideas to stake holders to resolve problems with a broad range of people at all levels.
Understanding of health and safety and its impact on the role and experience maintaining a safe work environment.
Ability to measure performance using data and the ability to coach and develop individuals and teams to drive continuous improvement.
