The Beauty Responsible Materials Innovation Department is seeking a highly motivated individual for a summer internship to help advance the identification of botanicals that provide consumer benefits.  The naturals sector of Hair Care is growing rapidly and now accounts for >20% of global sales.  One of the needs in this area is the identification of botanicals that deliver performance benefits across hair and scalp needs. During the summer internship, the individual will leverage Ethnobotany and Chemistry to identify and recommend botanical actives.    

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is working towards a Ph.D. in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biology with a focus on natural product chemistry.

• Leadership to manage multiple project priorities and deliver progress on fast timing.
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to obtain and assess data for.
• Technical curiosity with a passion to learn and innovate on new material or product opportunities.
• Ability to clearly create, document, and communicate results and recommendations to leadership and other P&G functions.
• Ability to effectively work across multiple functions and Beauty categories
• Demonstrated computer skills. Familiarity and proficiency with software packages such as: Microsoft applications, statistical software packages etc. Programming experience in Python or similar program is beneficial but not required.
