Key Deliverables/Critical Deliverables
Business
- Financial Reporting – Participate in the preparation of accurate and timely month-end grind, yield and production reports of Sweetener plants; Provide relevant supporting documentation to internal and external customers.
- Forecasting/Budgeting – Work cross-functionally across Sweetener plants and monitor trends to prepare monthly forecasts and periodic budgets over grind, production and yields. Partner with manufacturing personnel to lead mid-month forecasting process and assist with annual Goal/LE processes as needed.
- Account Reconciliations – Prepare monthly account reconciliations in a timely manner to ensure internal control policies are being followed.
- Audit Activities – Perform monthly, quarterly and annual Sarbanes-Oxley testing.
- Business Process Procedures – Ensure Business Process Procedures (BPP’s) are written and current for all job functions and hat they comply with internal control policies.
Agility and Innovation
- Analysis – Perform analyses to proactively identify and communicate grind, yield and production reporting issues to the Sweetener plants and recommend action. In addition, perform month-end analyses over utilities, payroll, and other plant manufacturing expenses as necessary.
- Process Improvement – Conduct process reviews to identify improvements to enhance the quality of financial reporting. Lead the implementation of improvements identified through this process.
Relationships and People
- Develop Relationships – Build and maintain collaborative relationships with all units and functional managers across multiple locations to ensure accurate and timely reporting of plant performance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA or CMA preferred
- 0-3 years relevant experience
- Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting concepts and theories used in the business environment
- Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to various levels within the organization
- Continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated ability to enact process efficiencies in previous roles
- Proven proficiency in the use of MS Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Travel required as necessary
