The voice of our landscapes, conservation champions and lovers of all things outdoors, as a Ranger, you’ll help to keep the British countryside wonderful.
With over 800 acres of parkland, woodland and wood pasture, Kedleston Park is a green lung on the urban fringe of Derby. Welcoming over 200,000 visitors each year, Kedleston is a wildlife haven and Site of Special Scientific Interest providing a home to White-clawed Crayfish, Red Kites, Otters and rare invertebrates.
As a key team member in our dynamic and experienced Ranger team, you’ll help lead the volunteer team, and with a number key projects such as delivery of our, Parklands HLS, CS funded Woodland Management scheme, hedgerow planting, management of new wildflower meadows and work to protect our White-clawed Crayfish, it’s an exciting time to join us at Kedleston Park.
As part of our Ranger team (staff and volunteers) you’ll continue to improve the biodiversity of this special site, deliver high standard practical works and great presentation across the property. With your endless passion for our work, you’ll help with the protection and care of habitats, wildlife, property and machinery, and your passion will inspire other to love this beautiful place as much as you do.
You’ll also share and promote the work that we do here, respond to queries and explain the value of the work being undertaken.
You’ll be key in liaising with tenants and graziers and ensuring the parkland is at its best.
Longer term projects include working with key stakeholders to write a new Parkland Management Plan, development of accessible paths across the park, and phased works to de-silt Kedleston’s Lake System.
